Once when I was deployed and due to a finance error was placed on "T" status, I went six months without pay. When I asked my chaplain how this was possible in the modern Army, he told me something I will always remember: "You see, the Army is an Evil organization filled with great people." He then went on to try to turn it into a teaching point with "and that's why we need to look out for each other, blah, blah, blah" but all I really heard was the first part.

Long story short, if you're in long enough, much like the rhythm, the Army is gonna getcha.
