Rules
Adult matches are 5 minutes long
Youth matches are 3 minutes long
Competitors must wear gis and belts accordingly
Rashguards and t-shirts for nogi
Shorts or leggings must be without pockets and zippers
Wrestling shoes are allowed
Slams are ruled as not having control of one’s opponent upon returning to the mat
No Spiking is allowed. Spiking is defined as dropping an opponent directly on their head
Slamming from guard is not allowed
It is illegal to slam someone who has your back
No strikes are allowed
If a competitor yells, screams, or cries out while a submission is being applied to them they will be considered to have verbally tapped
If a competitor throws up on the mats during a match they will be disqualified
A period of 2 minutes will be given in the event that a competitor gets cut or is bleeding. If the bleeding is not stopped in this time they will be disqualified
No biting, eye gouging, fish-hooking, hair pulling, or small joint manipulation (i.e. fingers or toes)
Competitors may be disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct at the referees discretion
Running from or avoiding engagement will incur a warning and can incur stalling points at referees discretion
Disagreements with a referee’s decision must be submitted to the head table for review. Arguing with a referee and disrupting competition will lead to disqualification of that coaches competitor

Blue:

Purple:

Youth Rules:
- No submissions below the waist
- No guillotines
- No omoplatas
- No spinal locks
- No guard compressions
- No wrist locks
Point System:
All matches will start from the neutral position
2 points will be awarded to the competitor for a takedown.
** Note: The person who goes to the ground effectively gives up two points. Pulling guard is awarded as a takedown to the opponent and not the person pulling guard**
1 point escape: Competitor must regain a neutral position
3 points reversal: Competitor reverses opponent and takes a controlling position (must maintain a 3 second control for points)
3 points guard pass: Competitor passes opponents guard to a controlling position (must maintain a 3 second control for points)
2 points knee on belly: Competitor must maintain a 3 second control for points
4 points mount: Competitor takes mounted position on opponent (Must have both legs clear and must maintain a 3 second control for points)
4 points back control: Competitor must have both hooks, body triangle, or have flattened opponent in order to achieve points for back control. (Must maintain a 3 second control for points)
