It could become cliché after hearing it over and over again, but it's crucially true. You don't (or rarely) get a second chance in a firefight. Every decision you make will have a consequence. When that day comes, you have to be ready. You train in a repetitive manner so things will be second nature on the battlefield. Shooting. Breathing. Medical knowledge and practice. Reloading. Movement. Etc. Do you feel prepared? If you can't answer yes, you need to train more. Get dirty, get physical, and hit the books. Practice over and over. Do whatever it takes to bring yourself and your team home.
