We think you’d be hard pressed to find a culture as intertwined with America than that of Ireland. From St. Patrick’s Day to law enforcement, Guinness to Jame-o, we are stuck together like steak and potatoes (I made a potato reference to be edgy).
Gael-Mheiriceánaigh (Irish-Americans) or those with Irish ancestry make up roughly 10% f the US population. A people with the penchant for taking dangerous jobs for low pay, excessive drinking, and the occasional fight coupled with an already bare-knuckled American attitude and you’ve got yourself one hell of a match made in heaven. I mean, name another group of people so dedicated to their heritage that they dye an entire river green. A whole river. Green.
From America’s inception to the present day, the Irish are a part of this tightly woven fabric we call the United States, and we’re lucky to have them.
